The new one. It was bad. Spoilerage below.
The pacing was awful. Slow, slow, slow, fast, slow, fast, slow, slow, climax, slow, slow, climax again, slow, slow, fin.
The “mutts” pissed me the hell off. Okay, they can move silently through water. Aquatic mutants blah blah I can live with that. But the Capital has shown through this and through the first movie (the dog-thing that they created on the fly to chase tributes around and slobber a lot) that they can genetically enhance or even create life, a technology that is NEVER explore nor exploited on the part of the capital.
The “pods” or puds or whatever the traps were called were overhyped and underdelivered. I’m sure if the story followed a bit more of the main front-line troops progression we could have seen some badass and very creative methods for making a person un-alive, but instead we get a machine gun, some flame throwers, and a city square that turns into a mediocre vat of hot oil that also randomly impales people as they are consumed by it (???). LAME.
That whole scene where Katniss is being told that she opposes the rebel president Whatsherface and blah blah can’t stand for someone else to become president was foreshadowing the HELL out of some sort of attempted murder of Katniss once the capital was won. But no. Nothing.
STUPID FUCKING LOVE TRIANGLE SUBPLOT GET OUT OF MY FUCKING ACTION MOVIE.
Throwing away the Holo was stupid as hell.
The scene in the house where she cries into the kitty was less emotional and more stupid. More reminiscent of the temper tantrums my sister would throw when she was seven, not of someone who lost a close family member, which I have seen many times.
I really want to go see Spectre now.

I tried watching the 1st movie on cable TV and I can’t get past 5 minutes. Boring as hell. Watching paint dry is more fun.
